Craig Design Group Inc. (CDG) is a North Texas based woman owned, environmental design studio celebrating thirty years as Landscape Architects, Planners, Irrigation Designers and Visualization Artist. We are team players in the design process and add value to a project by using creative solutions to bring human scale and visual enhancements to a site. CDG is a Texas certified DBE, SBE, HUB and Federal EDWOSB. Our experience includes both public and private sector projects in 40 states including sustainable infrastructure and green building practices.


Archworks Inc. (1986-2007)

The origins of Craig Design Group date back to 1986. The firm was founded by Jolene and Gregory Craig as Archworks and incorporated in 1988 as Archworks Inc. Our initial project experience was focused on private and commercial work; restaurants, retail power centers, residential estates and multi-family development through-out Texas. We expanded our project experience nationwide including retail, restaurant and multi-family locations in over 40 states. Between 2003-2007 Archworks Inc. partnered with Stephen C Berkenbile & Associates (a former irrigation design sub-consultant) to form Berkenbile+Craig Inc. (BCI) a DBE Landscape Architecture firm focused on public facilities and infrastructure projects. Gregory Craig served as the Principal Landscape Architect, LEED Accredited Professional and Director of Marketing successful acquiring public sector client and designing projects including US Armed Forces, DART, DISD, North Texas Municipalities and LEED projects including Hensley Field Service Center for the City of Dallas, and Hector Garcia Middle School for the DISD.


Craig Design Group Inc.-CDG Landscape Architects (2007–Present)

In late 2007, Archworks Inc. was rebranded as Craig Design Group Inc. and in 2010 certified as a woman owned DBE firm and a Texas certified HUB. Today, CDG is focused on maintaining a balance of Public and Private sector clients. In 2013 we expanded our local presence by opening offices in downtown Dallas and Fort Worth.

Our philosophy is to provide exceptional service to our clients, responding to their needs, governmental requirements and budget constraints while complementing the site architecture and ecosystem. We embrace our role as urban designers and landscape architects utilizing our talents, communication skills and diverse experiences to create sustainable environmental design solutions. CDG is focused on sustainable and low impact development. We apply our artistic abilities, technical skills, scientific knowledge and cultural awareness to create memorable spaces and sustainable environments.

JOLENE CRAIG

PRESIDENT / CO-FOUNDER / CFO

Jolene Craig has over 30 years of business experience as a highly accomplished executive director, business manager, senior administrator and accounts payable manager for a variety of companies including A/E/C, real estate and legal firms in North Texas. As co-founder and President of Craig Design Group, Jolene continues to direct the company’s growth, image and financial stability. Over the years she has donated her time to community causes, including founding and directing a non-profit USTA sponsored community tennis association in Rowlett, where she lives. She is passionate about spending time away from the business world at Lake Cypress Springs with her dogs, friends and family.

GREGORY CRAIG

VICE PRESIDENT / CO-FOUNDER / DIRECTOR OF DESIGN / RLA / LEED AP BD+C / CLARB

Gregory Craig has over thirty-five years of experience as a creative Professional Landscape Architect and Planner for both public sector projects and nationwide private development. He graduated in 1979 from the UT-Arlington SAED and has worked for numerous A/E firms in North Texas. Greg is an advocate for sustainable environmental design, buildings and infrastructure including public transportation, LEED, LID and iSWM. In 2004 Greg became one of the first Landscape Architects in Texas to achieve accreditation as a LEED AP and served as the RLA of record for Hensley Field, one of the first Gold Certified LEED projects in North Texas and Hector Garcia, the first LEED certified Dallas ISD school. Greg is a former treasurer and board member with the North Texas USGBC. He has been a guest speaker at sustainable workshops on topics including landscape & irrigation practices, LEED municipal ordinances and rainwater harvesting for the GSA, NCTCOG, GDPC and BPI. Greg enjoys the creative process, networking with fellow design professionals and time away from the grind, traveling with family and friends, running, hiking and kayak fishing.

RICH POLING

DIRECTOR OF VISUALIZATION ART / CONCEPT DESIGNER / RID

Rich Poling is an award-winning artist, planner and designer with 30 plus years of experience in a wide variety of project types. He graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts – Industrial Design from Western Kentucky University and has worked for numerous A/E firms in North Texas. Rich has a strong traditional art background and a superior ability to develop interpretive themes that convey ideas and design information through the graphic and illustrative process. His expert abilities in sketching, storyboarding and illustration, combined with digital and new media applications allow him to produce extremely creative design and graphic solutions that have received numerous awards. Rich’s master planning experience includes amusement and theme parks both nationwide and internationally. Rich lives in Dallas with his wife and numerous dogs and cats. He enjoys good food, music, comedy, sports, and he donates much of his time to animal rescue causes including the Dallas Animal Services.

KAMERON CRAIG

Associate / CAD Production / Licensed Irrigator / Web Designer

Kameron Craig has over six years of combined CAD and irrigation design experience. He began working for CDG after attending Richland College and completing irrigation design training, two years of AutoCAD course training, and receiving his Texas Irrigator’s license. Kameron is proficient with all Microsoft Office programs and also has experience working with 3-D Studio Max, Sketch-Up, IT Desktop, touchscreen POS, computer system cash audits, social networking, and website design & management. He is passionate about the great outdoors and enjoys traveling to Colorado, hiking, fishing, and bouldering with his dog Kozmo.
